Thursday May 3  We flew to Almaty,Kazakhstan for a Missionary Zone Conf. The Grays came to our room when we checked in. We caught up on news and laughed a lot. We stayed a day longer so we could tour Almaty with the Beck's and Taylor's. We met up with the Taylors at their apt. We didn't have internet so we couldn't call them to let them know we were in the parking lot. I went into a beauty parlor and asked to use their wifi so I could call the Taylor's. Then we walked fast to meet up with the Beck's at Kok-Tobe mountain. There is a gondola ride to the top. There is a recreational park with a petting zoo.  This is where Elder Nelson came and dedicated Kazakhstan for missionary work. We really enjoyed the views of the city. We rode back down and caught a bus to Shymbulak ski resort.  There were three levels and three gondola rides to the top.  On the second level we had pictures taken with a Golden Eagle. It was a great fun!  Taking tram to top of mountain

Tuesday April 10 We got a taxi out to a Bazaar that is all furniture. We need to get an estimate on some chairs for an orphanage. The orphanage needs about 100 chairs to seat 150 kids.  We also drove to a different Bazaar that is just fabric, bedding and sewing notions. We bought some 4 inch foam pads for our bed to make it softer. Our bed mattress is like a box spring and hard a plywood.   We went out to the rehabilitation center that we are installing air conditioners to make sure they are being put in the right rooms. The Director, Salika is so excited for the installation. She also served us a little snack of Boorsok's with raspberry jam, and a sweetened cream.  I LOVE Boorsok. They are little scones.    Wednesday April 11 Follow ups again. We only got to see 3 people today. The first man had been living with his mother until her recent death. He has had a stroke. His legs are paralyzed.   I guess he dresses himself. There are Social workers that bring him f
