May 21
We went to a closing about 3 hours from Bishkek in the Ortok region in a little village. We provided monies for the village residents to by Sluice Gates for their river that helps feed water to different fields. The water was only going one way and the current was so strong that they couldn't direct the water to the outer fields without these gates. They were very, very appreciative and showed by adding the LDS Charities name on the gates.
We spent the night in a resort along Isaak-Kol lake. It is the 2nd largest mountain lake in the world.
The next morning we went to a village called Boserbiva where we discussed a project that they needed veterinary supplies for inoculating their cattle because they have diseases that are causing liver damage to the villager's, especially the children.
They provided a great lunch in a yurt village where people can rent yurts like hotel rooms. The high end yurt has it's own bathroom. The others use an outhouse in the back of the park.
